Prospect is located in northeast Jefferson County and southwest Oldham County about 15 minutes from downtown Louisville. Straddling both counties, Prospect is known for its picturesque rolling fields, hiking trails, parks, historic homes and high-end subdivisions many of which have their own clubhouses, swimming pools and tennis courts. Prospect is also known for its thriving business area including two shopping centers, grocery stores, medical, dental and legal offices, banks and pharmacies as well as a hardware store, jewelry store, coffee shop, and a variety of restaurants. Prospect also has farms, ranches and equestrian properties many of which offer unobstructed views of the Ohio River.
